SEND Support in Schools in Buckinghamshire
Most additional help is accessed through school. Start with the teacher or SENCO, ask how needs and outcomes are recorded and agree when support will be reviewed.
SEN Support and the SENCO
Ask what has been assessed, what support will be tried, who is responsible, what outcomes are expected and when progress will be reviewed. This is the practical assess–plan–do–review cycle. Not every child needs an EHCP.
If support is not working
Request a review, bring specific examples and ask whether support should change or further specialist advice is needed. If needs remain unmet despite support, an EHC needs assessment may become relevant through the responsible authority.
